You have to pay for the garages separately to the track managers

Re: 2011 classes using Spreadsheet MOD point system

Royce,

Can you update the spreadsheet to see how many points a standard MY10 STi will have, the idea has always been to have the stock Sti in Club class. (with the fact that RE070 tyres that came with STi rated as R-tyre).

Re: Predicted new Class

What you are discussing in this thread is Driver championship versus Driver+Car championship, which the latter has always been the case with the wrx club. It's damn hard to have parity even with one make model and controlled equipments, the stricter and more complicated set of rules to 'even out' co...

Re: 2011 classes using Spreadsheet MOD point system

I am glad everyone thinks the principle of the new system is good. I will take the credits for it and Royce will take the complaints :innocent: as usual the devil is in the details. new car has more power, wider arches, but has more weight? shock/springs replacement is cheaper than coil overs plus h...

Re: 2011 classes using Spreadsheet MOD point system

The main aim of the spreadsheet were: - Reduce the number of classes so there are more competitors in any one class, include non-WRX turbo Subaru in the classes. - Current unmodified Standard WRX will be competitive in 'Stock'. - Current unmodified Standard STi will be competitive in 'Club'. Every y...

Re: 2011 classes using Spreadsheet MOD point system

Tony,

Here's the fun bit you can play around

ECU/Boost 2 points
spring/shocks 1 point
swaybar/ALK 1 point

1 point for bragging right saying you still have room left for improvement

Re: 2011 classes using Spreadsheet MOD point system

Royce,

I like the new spreadsheet, you may need to play around with turbo definition and points for them.

From casual quick look you may want to think about moving the points to make a bit bigger jump to race class.
May be 20 or 25 points ?

Re: 2011 classes using Spreadsheet MOD point system

What about fuel? eg. 102, 110 or other concoctions that you can smell from time to time. yes fuel .. interesting .. its actually covered by CAMS regs and special cocktails arent allowed If you are going to follow the CAMS regs, then where does that leave one of our sponsors? most of Martini Fuel is...

Run a historic comp and a modern comp. Or does this just make things worse.

OK can we just use Hungs? For sure, I won't be expecting any royalty payments :P I have an unbiased view not having a WRX for a loooong time or intending to have a WRX any time in the next 10 years. Re: Class Definitions ideas

From page 1 :P Just whip up something quick for discussions ;) http://members.iinet.net.au/~hungmdo/2010%20wrx%20classes.xls First we all need to agree the class definitions need changing. Then we need to get the MS Director for next year to agree to work to a change. Otherwise we will end up with w...

Re: Motorsport for Newbies

Actually its both :smart: the formula is v^2 = u^2 + 2as Ie terminal velocity in the straight squared = the speed at start of straight squared + 2*acceleration * distance traveled. THerefore the speed carried out of corner is extremely important http://www.tutor4physics.com/motion1d.htm BUT given t...

Re: Motorsport for Newbies

I haven't done physics for a long time but isn't terminal speed (or really your max speed for the track) got more to do with how long the straight is (given the same car)?

Lyn,

When you get no weight over the rear tyre (just like tu said) you can't get traction from those tyres.

Re: Transfering some of the braking to the rear

Back in the wrx days ;) I had numerous conversation about this with Howard at RaceBrakes. You can proportion more pressure to the rear or use bigger calipers and rotors on the rears etc... The fundamental problem would still remains, there is hardly any weights on the rear of a wrx. It's best to bee...
