Re: Round 6 - Phillip Island - 5th July 2015

Is the webmaster@wrx.com.au email address working? Sent an urgent email yesterday regarding my event registration and getting worried it might not be seen.

Re: WRX Club Championship 2014 Round 1 at Phillip Island

Surprised only 20 spots filled given this is a tad under 3 weeks off... others entering?
Never thought I'd complain about more track time but... c'mon ;)

Re: anyone in Vic need a good Ecutek tune?

I used S&J extensively when I lived in Adelaide... Sean has to be the best Subaru tuner in the country (his son was running a ~450kw '06 sti last weekend at ozgymkhana) and he's a really nice guy to boot... heavily recommended.

Bought the Toyo T1's from Ricky a couple of months ago; absolutely fantastic street tyre, heavily recommended.

Re: My Full-Race 1.5 scroll setup

Interesting you say the tune hadn't changed much - isn't ECUTek's "RACE-ROM" a relatively new thing?

You certainly got the right man in Adelaide to tune it :)

Re: Winton Multiclub Sprints EntryList

I'd prefer the usual 15-20 min sessions max, but just more sessions and/or less cars on the track at once, rather than long sessions. If the sessions are longer, I'll be retiring earlier - good to let the car breathe. I'm used to doing Time Attack style events in SA - warm-up lap, hot lap, cool-down...

Re: Mitsubishi evos

also completely depends whether it was tuned on a disney dyno or not; don't get too caught up with the numbers. but correct, sounds like it had an evo 9 turbo bolted onto it (fairly popular mod).

Re: Mitsubishi evos

Prior WRX owner, driven lots of STI's, bought an Evo IX almost 3 years ago and haven't looked back - mod for mod I'd argue the Evo does make easier power/handling, particularly once you move to E85. THAT said, if I wanted a pure daily driver, between the two I'd buy a WRX/STI. Period. I love my Evo,...

Re: Service on a 2.0i Impreza

All good info, thanks.

Biggest question I had was what specific fluids do people recommend? (I know I can always look in the owners manual and match the grade of oil required, but was hoping for something more exact than that)

Service on a 2.0i Impreza

Hi, Apologies this isn't strictly for a turbo Subaru, but I figure it's 90% similar. Missus has a 06 2.0i Impreza auto we picked up earlier in the year; I have my suspicions about its supposed service history, and it's well overdue for its 5-year service. I'd like to give it a complete service just ...

Re: WRX Club Motorsport Event 4 Sandown

Thanks to all who organised/helped run this event - good fun - almost 4 years since I've done Sandown in a stock WRX, my first track day - it was all downhill from there ;-)

Unfortunately I chickened out after one session in the wet: kinda fun but was more like AWD drifting with the tyres I had on!
