Re: endless problems

Disconnect the battery over night.. reconnect it and start it and it will have the code or codes for the culprit. From that they should be able to fix it straight up..I would be replacing the fuel filter a couple of times to make sure it is clean from rust..

Re: 1997 MY98 GC8 WRX

Nice.. Looking better every time you post pics... Those early sti covers are hard to pick up. I had a friend in Japan buy me a pair on Japan Yahoo for $50...Make sure you make them hard to get off.. A good mod now would be to color match the door handles and skirts...

Re: KUHMO V720

My wife and i went down last year for a road trip and visited our son for a week.. I had seen snow on the ground before in Japan but had never actually seen it snowing till last year.. It was awesome. So beautiful.. We actually had snow in Jindibyne while we were there...This is our camper outside m...

Re: KUHMO V720

Yes.. You can get 4 for the price of 3 at the moment.. We put a new set on my son's sti 10 days ago before he went to Jindibyne .. and this time last year I put a set on my wifes rex. The Kumho is a performance tyre that's for sure however I would be careful in the wet with them. That's why the RE00...

Re: KUHMO V720

Yes.. I had a set of those. They were good value till Kumho were forced to double their price after the OZ companies complained bitterly about Kumho taking such a big slice of the tyre pie with cheap tyres that performed well but once they were around the same price as the better quality tyres peopl...

thoughts from Liberty GT STI and GT Spec B owners..

I have been thinking , for a few years now , that I would like to get an Auto wrx.. My wife's previous wrx was an auto and it was great to drive. Very responsive and always ready to go... I was going to bid on a GTb at an auction last week but due to circumstances outside my control I got there too ...

Re: Bridgestone RE003s Vs Hankook RS3s

If you are really going to track your car soo much that you want track tyres, you need another set of wheels and tyres dedicated to the track... There is no such thing as dry track tyres and wet track tyres either so you may need a third set. If you are like the rest of us and in reality only go to ...

Re: MY98 WRX running with no 02sensor

My 98 has a later model 2.5 liter engine with a divorced twin down pipe system with an O2 sensor screwed in to block the hole but the wire is cut off the sensor as it is not required. It runs with a Uni Chip piggy back ecu. Had it tuned many years ago when I fitted all the goodies to the engine and ...

Take off the spoiler and swap scoops with someone for the day.. Wouldn't have an issue with either in QLD..

Take it to a REX specialist... NOT Subaru..Your LOCATION in your profile would be helpful !!!

Re: Bridgestone RE003s Vs Hankook RS3s

We got re003s on the sti again last week for $580 F&B.. We now have them on 3 of our rexs and they will be going on the blue one next time it needs tyres. It has Michelin PS3s on there at the moment and they are good but the RE003s are better. Bridgestone is doing 4 for price of 3 atm... It's go...

PS.... would be a good idea to update your profile with your "location" !!!! Then people can advise of a "good" workshop in your area....

Re: GC8 finding a new motor

If you have taken it anywhere except a subaru specialist, but not subaru of corse, then I am not surprised you are getting wrong info. I would not let anyone who is not a subi workshop touch any of our rexs let alone do an engine rebuild.

Re: Random engine shutdown 02 wrx

No.. All good since that day. We have had it removed from all 3 of our rexs that had them fitted.. It is caused by cracked solder joints (2) on the main circuit board. The cracked joints are easy to spot and can be repaired but unless you can do it yourself it is best to have the entire system remov...

Re: Strut/spring set up re ride height gc8

King Lows with stock struts make a great combo.. We have that on out CSE2 and it handles better than out sti and has a nicer ride.. Both have same whiteline sways and whiteline links..

Re: First Engine Mods

Exhaust ...Do it all at the same time as the tune will cost $1000...so no point in doing a couple of things at a time..
