Re: MY00 GC8 WRX Radiator Needes

i bought a mishimoto one and it started leaking a year later so bought an new OEM as the first lasted 16 years Like you ryano, my original radiator lasted some 12 years, next I tried some generic $100-odd brand via my mechanic which only lasted a couple of years before it's end tanks sprang a leak,...

Re: Coil overs

Hi guys, I am new to the wrx. I am looking to get coils, any suggestions to what brands are good for 06 model. Cheers In order to get more specific recommendations, you might want to tell us a little more: What's your intended purpose for your 06 model? ie. is it for Daily use only, combination of ...

Re: r-spec tyre options 205/50/16

Ah ok so you do have the AD08R on your current daily...so you know what they have to offer. Fantastic alignments & customer service at Traction Tyres, albeit slightly biased towards Yokis haha I think you've nailed the main downside of going to 17" ...most likely a heavier rim/tyre combo. A...

Re: r-spec tyre options 205/50/16

Yes I think you've covered the major/best offerings in 205/50/16 for street work with very capable track duties. I recently opted for the AD08R on my MY00 GC8 based on the excellent feedback from many club members already using them, plus the very reasonable price (from Traction Tyres in Rowville). ...

Re: Getting back into Subaru's - GC8?

Hope all going ok with the activities that were on your schedule for today. If you end up sticking with the standard GC8 seats and decide to grab the Drivers seat from 'retroguy', I have a VGC seat back with no wear on the seat bolster if you want to combine with the base from 'retroguy'.....my driv...

Re: The daily driver WRX tyre thread.

plusone - as nice as those Koya Racing RG TEK rims are, I'm definitely with Delivan on this one....ditch them & go back to an 18" rim, which is still 1" up on the stock rims for this model (235/45/17's on 17x8 rims). I have 225/35/19's as OEM on my Golf GTI Performance Pack and the rid...

Re: Cold tyre pressures for AD08R for street use.?

Thought I'd post some feedback I received from Andrew (owner of Traction Tyres in Rowville, Yokohama's sole motorsport tyre dealer in Vic/Tas) when I recently went into discuss the wear on my brand new AD08R's after their 1st track day at the club's Sandown round 29-Oct-16. What I learnt & under...

Re: Baw baw drive

Great to meet you yesterday Adam - and sorry that your GC8 let you down on the way up Baw Baw. Glad to hear that you did make it home, albeit slowly & carefully....I kept my eyes peeled on the way home just in case I saw you stranded on the side of the road :( Hope you and/or your mechanic are a...

Re: Cold tyre pressures for AD08R for street use.?

Thanks for posting your feedback from PI on Sunday sacar-1....very interesting. A pity that the weather & a red flag hindered your day :thumbsdow: So in a nutshell, you went from running 35psi hot at your previous 2 track days to having the 4 tyres ranging between 40-45psi hot after your 1st ses...

Re: Mt Baw Baw drive

I would so much love to do this drive, & been waiting for it, especially those twisties up the last 6ks from the toll booth. As I know so well from racing & training up it on my pushy... Hell fun...Ha. Anyway, I'm having to sit this out, to save my tyres & brakes for Rexmas... Enjoy all...

Re: Sandown Wrap Up (29/10/16)

Thanks very much magoo, very kind of you to post the AGI link, quite a few options for the GC8....and wow, 80 orders ahead of you....although I'm not surprised as there does appear to be a real surge in safety awareness amongst club level motorsport lately, per this very forum thread.

Re: Mt Baw Baw drive

Ahaa yeah with no etag, it will definitely be a "little" longer....my alternative route would be out on Cranbourne-Frankston Rd, left onto the Western Port Hwy, onto the Monash briefly, then onto Stud Rd all the way up to Mountain Hwy, turn right, then left onto Bayswater Rd & right on...

Re: Sandown Wrap Up (29/10/16)

To me it is pretty simple, its unfortunate if people cant go racing because they want to go for a drive on the weekend. My Stance on this will be for life. If you cant afford the right safety gear, you cant afford to go racing. Very well said Kyle & your comments are appreciated, certainly not ...

Do you mind telling us where you sourced your cage from? And is it bolt-in or weld-in?
