If it helps you sleep easier at night then do it. :lol:

STI = STI
WRX = WRX

Pick one. Buy one. Enjoy either :)

Re: The daily driver WRX tyre thread.

Small update on the ku36's Done approx 3,000 kms now. Tread wear is minimal for now but am more interested to see how we go at the track with new whiteline goodies (bars, rck, alk, and a proper alignment haha) that will be added by late sept. Still maintain original thoughts...they refuse to let go,...

Re: project 400kw gc8

Yep Ian (and others) you are wrong. The 2jz can indeed handle 1000hp stock, and the 1jz (2.5l) can even handle 700hp+. The titan motorsports drag 2jz made 2000hp with stock port heads, no modifications! They flow very well.. Get with the picture, Subaru gear is not great in comparison to Nissan and...

Re: What's next for my toy?

As said by deafwish Get some decent rubber on there as soon as you can (I understand the car came like that when purchased so its not really your fault) They are the only thing keeping you on the road :thumbs: I remember that car too, absolutely immac. Even the undercarriage was a work of art (will ...

Re: The daily driver WRX tyre thread.

Kuhmo Ku36 235/40/18 Fitted 2 weeks ago $914 all up ($230-ish a corner) Done approx 1000kms on them. From the cornering I have done though, im very impressed at the grip+handling improvement as my car, suspension wise, is stock apart from springs + strut braces. The difference in cornering is excell...

Re: Need more torque...dont we all :P

Thanks for that guys,

will keep on the look out for a good used vf43 + sti tmic, seems to be the best combo down from a 34/p20 or a td05

Yep head-snapping midrange is what im after, car is tracked but not often enough to need blistering top end.

Again, thanks,

Shane. :thumbs:

Re: ford focus XR5

Yep have driven the current model and previous, Volvo 5 cyl turbo is solid, comfortable interior.........mad torque steer. Not so great in the wet..... Everything Jeebus said. Mate had one before he sold it. His was tuned with 440Nm.... :( Could not go near the throttle under any kind of cornering ...

Re: WA P plate rules for WRXs

Dont worry just drive sensibly on the road, and take some defensive driving courses (im from over west so I dont know if you guys know them as something else) or a skidpan and let the instructor jump in with you. It's not too exp, over here ist about $80-90 for a 4hr session (which is good if there ...

Re: WA P plate rules for WRXs

Legal or Illegal, I, even as a 22yo, still don't believe a WRX as a first car is the best idea. But that's another argument. I'd go the 05 w/ the 2.5L over the 06 w/ the 2L. Yeah, I went from Excel, to 99 RX to 04 WRX :p and I'm only 21 :) In the same boat, went from my Mums Avalon (a what???? yeah...
