Re: 2015 STI Australian Alarm installed by Subaru is faulty.

Hi again guys, I recently spoke to the salesman I purchased my STI from and he tells me that Subaru has finally stopped installing these crappy alarms. I did send a registered letter to the Subaru CEO saying that after 3 WRX's over seventeen years I could not believe that they were persisting with t...

Hi there Guys. SUCCESS, SUCCESS, SUCCESS !!!!! Well today I had this crappy Sigma Series S alarm removed and all is well again. Re: 2015 STI Australian Alarm installed by Subaru is faulty.

Hi again!!! Here is the latest on this crappy aftermarket alarm installed in my STI before delivery. As I said in earlier posts I purchased the car new in Feb 2015. But between the time the car landed in Port Kembla and delivery Subaru installed, or had installed by a contractor an alarm system. Bac...

Re: 2015 STI Australian Alarm installed by Subaru is faulty.

Hi As promised here is the latest in this story. Today my car had the faulty alarm removed and a new, better unit (so Subaru say) installed. I spoke to the auto electrician regarding completely removing this annoying modification but Subaru insisted on replacing it. For those with a 2015 STI, I woul...

Re: 2015 STI Australian Alarm installed by Subaru is faulty.

Hi Here is the latest in this ongoing saga!!! Call today from Subaru Sydney and they tell me the key pad is only for programming and will not be visible as it's located near the fuse box under the driver side dash!!! Also I was told this UPDATED version is in fact the same unit that they installed i...

Re: 2015 STI Australian Alarm installed by Subaru is faulty.

Just an update!! It's now 2 weeks since my first problem arose with this stupid alarm system. I have not heard from Subaru at Crossroads. I guess the replacement part is coming from China!!! Last Friday, 29th January I sent a letter via overnight post to Nick Senior, MD of Subaru Australia pointing ...

Re: 2015 STI Australian Alarm installed by Subaru is faulty.

Hi again guys, Well after more time spent on google I found that if the car will not start due to this dodgy alarm, you open the drivers door and the thing will start!!!!!!! Don't know why but it's the advice I found on google. It works. Now waiting for the experts at Subaru to let me know when the ...

2015 STI Australian Alarm installed by Subaru is faulty.

Hi guys, My MY2015 STI which is just 11 months old is giving the same symptoms as my earlier WRX's regarding this crappy alarm that Subaru insists on installing after the car lands in Australia. The car intermittently will not start. I completely disconnected these alarms in earlier cars. My questio...

Re: 07 wrx surging/pulsing

Mat I am referring to the air flow meter which is in the intake just after the air filter. It is held in with a couple of screws and has a electrical plug attached to it. It is located in the front right of the engine bay. Hard to miss, just follow the intake from the air filter box. On the GC8 it's...

Re: 07 wrx surging/pulsing

Matt I had same problem with my GC8 MY00 WRX Finally put it on a dyno and the mechanic found it was the air flow meter causing the car to run too lean at times. This fault was very obvious at about 60 kph on light acceleration. I spent heaps of time trying to find the problem before taking it to the...

Re: 2007 wrx brant alarm issues

Blacked I agree with Cameron, you need to be able to solder to remove it. I removed mine from my MY04. All the Brandt wiring is black so you need to follow them back to where the alarm wiring has been cut into the original wiring loome. Then its just a matter of soldering the wires that have been cu...

Re: GC8 missing intermittently

Good afternoon all, Well finally I have an answer. In frustration I decided to take the car to Newcastle Dyno Tune which has a four wheel dyno. All of this heartache has been caused by a faulty air flow meter which has been causing the car to run lean. The technician, Nathan installed a new Subaru A...

Re: GC8 missing intermittently

Thanks Grumbles, No it is not the clutch slipping. I had some advice from a mechanic today. He said he would only be doing what I have done except he'd be charging me. So he suggested I check the throttle position sensor. So with a probe into the plug I found I had 0.56 volts with throttle closed an...

Re: GC8 missing intermittently

Hi there Guys, just an update to my problem, which I still have. The intermittent miss or loss of power is baffling!!! Since my last post I have swapped the camshaft position sensor and the crankshaft sensor. No luck though. I have checked the plug for the fuel pump under the rear seat on the driver...

Re: GC8 missing intermittently

Hi again guys, Well I am still head banging trying to sort this problem out. I have done all that I mentioned in my first post PLUS:- Been back to auto electrician and he found a DTC 24 code, ISC Valve stuck. I removed the ISC valve, cleaned it and checked it was operational by attaching the plug an...

Re: GC8 missing intermittently

Thanks guys The spark plugs are not very old but I could have a faulty one for sure. I will replace them. Cheap enough to eliminate them. Regarding the AFM, I have removed it and cleaned it with contact cleaner which I am told does the job. But as I said there are no fault codes showing up. The car ...

GC8 missing intermittently

Hi Guys, I have a MY00 WRX I purchased new and it has 133K on the clock. The car is stock standard! It has developed an intermittent miss and at other times a sort of lack of power. When I notice the lack of power I push the throttle to the floor and it then seems to clear. Some days the problem is ...
