Re: RE: 2002 sti front parking lights not working

Hey all, We just purchased a 2002 sti for a project car and through me checking it out now it’s in the shed that the front parking lights don’t work when u turn the switch on above the steering wheel but the rear ones do - i have changed the bulbs but no difference. I have also noticed that the HID...

Re: Jono's MY07 STi - Rebuild Edition

I also got bored while recovering from surgery, so I decided to pull the headlights out and paint the chrome surrounds graphite grey. While i was at it i added a front lip and red badge overlays https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171107/10a582635a2b99fbcac45909f1dc192d.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-c...

Jono's MY07 STi - Rebuild Edition

For some reason, I cant add to my original build thread, so here is a shiny new one! After suspecting that the car was down on one cylinder, i finally bit the bullet and had a leakdown test performed. The results confirmed my suspicion: Cyl 1-3 10-12% leakdown, Cyl 4 78% leakdown. Off to top torque ...

Re: IS THERE ANY DIFFRENCE IN 05/06 STI SEATS

Any gd series seats will bolt straight in, afaik the 05-07 sti seats are identical. Just be aware that the sti seats do not have side airbags, where the wrx ones did. You would have to get a cop that seriously knows their subaru's to get done for it though

Re: Oil Catch Cans

@neptune11 it is not the easiest to access, I empty it every time I drop the oil (5000kms) and I check it after every second session at the track. There is a drain bolt at the bottom of the can. At the track I take the can out 2 bolts

Re: Oil Catch Cans

I run an AVO catch can, which in black looks like it was there from the factory, it mounts to the lower section of the left strut tower. Being mostly street driven with the occasional track day I was after a stealth look, but did pay a premium for it compared to a generic catch can Sent from my SM-G...

Re: Mounting a boost guage

What symptoms is your car showing? Is there excessive turbo noise? In my case it was a melted down pipe cat causing the car to not reach full boost and lose power

Re: Mounting a boost guage

I attached mine to the plastic surround behind the steering wheel with some double sided tape as a temporary measure when I suspected a boost leak. The other (less reliable) option get an OBD2 reader and use the torque app on your phone to check, the app is also able to check for fault codes. Sent f...

Re: 06 wrx car problems

As others have said, I would be getting the alarm looked at, where are you located ? There are plenty of good Subaru specialists throughout Melbourne, most will be able to remove the Brant if it is faulty

All in all a great day though. Credit to Kurt and Daniel, as well as the Subinats committee for putting on an awesome, and we'll run event!

Re: 02 Jul 2017 Subinats @ Phillip Island - Motorsport Round 4

I had issues with Harry's lap timer talking to my GoPro and as a result I didn't get many laps on camera, anyway here is one of the laps I did capture. https://youtu.be/iJ3z_2AR9LA I was still getting my confidence back after coming off turn one at speed last year, so was Ultra conservative with my ...

Re: slotted front and rear rotors for 06 wrx

The previous questions are trying to gauge how much heat you generate, as this will affect the type of rotor you can run.

If your car is stock and on street tyres you could get away with RDA slotted or DBA Street SERIES (T2)

Re: slotted front and rear rotors for 06 wrx

Dba 4000 or equivalent are the way to go for a combination of street and track. Is your car modified? If so how much power are you making? And do you run R compound tyres on the track?

Re: Q&A servicing

While it's best to drop your oil after each track day, every 2-3 should be ok if your car is not modified, and you are not smashing the rev limiter all day. It is also worth running a thicker oil than the 5w30 Subaru recommend. Just be mindful it will take a little bit longer to warm up to its opera...
