Re: Jono's MY07 STi - Rebuild Edition

Glad the STi is on the road again! I'm looking forward to a cruise where we can both run our new engines.
I still think you should go for a Dom 1.5 and E85 though.

Re: Turbo Friday Cruise 2017 Twisty Heaven

New ej207 short block, ARP head studs, MLS (I think) gaskets, refresh heads.
Heads were back from the machinist and fitted on Tuesday, so I it should be ready next week. Tony from URD has been rebuilding it.

Re: Turbo Friday Cruise 2017 Twisty Heaven

Hey Brad! How've you been?
Melted a big end bearing, snapped a rod, put a hole in the block, and bent some valves.

Re: Turbo Friday Cruise 2017 Twisty Heaven

Yes, it was very nice of Snowy to wait with me and help me out.
That recently re tarred section was terrible for stones; I have noticeable chips on my rims that I'll have to touch up.

Re: REVNURAZR 02 STI from WA

That's a lot of gauges now!
Personally I'm more partial to the tiffany blue / turquoise callipers myself. Perhaps just a minuscule drop darker than the bottom pic with silver flake added? Would probably contrast really well against the black on white.

Re: GT3071R Turbo in 2002 wrx sti?

Yes, you can. To fit one you will need to move from stock location to rotated mount, which will require extra cost for a matching up pipe, down pipe, and external waste gate. Aside from these you will want all the full bolt ons that you would for a similar sized stock location turbo, i.e.: TBE, head...

Re: 2007 Steering wheel into 2003 WRX.

It looks great! I'm actually a bit jealous of your steering wheel controls; didn't think anything of them until I got back in my bugeye after six weeks in a loan car that had them.

Isn't this an MY08+ wheel though? I thought MY07's had the same steering wheel as the 05's and 06's?

Do you get much frothy condensation in your AOS in winter, Brett?

Dynamat

I'd like to Dynamat my front doors and rear seat. Does anyone have a decent amount left over from doing their own car and wish to get rid of it?

Steering Wheel Aluminium Ring

If anyone happens to have the grooved aluminium ring that surrounds the "Momo" on 99-02 steering wheels in excellent condition they want to sell, that would be great. I suppose I could find one at a wrecker but I thought I'd ask first. It's just a small cosmetic thing, but mine is a bit sc...

Re: What oil to use in E85 fuelled cars?

Reviving this thread just to see whether these suggestions still stand or what opinions people have after running E85 for a few years more. I'll be switching to E85 in a few weeks when I get a Dom 1.5 fitted and tuned, and I was wanting to get an AOS as I already get blow by with much less boost and...

UEL Headers

I'm after some Prospeed, AVO, Ultrex, Kando/Kinugawa, or Tomei headers with up pipe. Already ceramic heat coated is a welcome bonus!
Thanks.

Re: How forgiving to learn manual on?

And perhaps not afraid to slip the clutch more than usual. I only learnt to drive manual about six months ago, and hill starts made me very nervous as I was afraid of rolling back into the car behind; so I'd rev too hard and rush the clutch either stalling or having a very jerky start. Once I relaxe...

Re: 1997 IMPREZA WRX

You may be able to get an auto key / alarm place to code a couple of key transponders to your immobiliser. That may be something to investigate. Otherwise I believe a Subaru Select Monitor can be used to register up to four transponders with the ecu / immobiliser. Not sure the process however and ho...

I understand how that goes, Brad.
I've been looking at my steering wheel too recently thinking perhaps it needs a bit of refreshment.
