Re: Boost & hesitation problem

Agreed. Even better fuel is from united which is my preferred as they do e85 for one. :) Anyway, been thinking some more, could be they didn't tune out the stumble. I think there is a stumble problem in the tunes on those. I'll have to get around to finding the references again. In the mean time, ye...

Re: V6 STI TIMING

For gen 2 you need to set 0v=9.1 and 5v=19.1. My wideband was non adjustable so I had to adjust the closed loop table accordingly to get the desired afr on closed loop. Open loop was pretty much spot on. You also changed the options1? You need to add "16 = WBO2 closed-loop mode activated"....

Re: V6 STI TIMING

I think most of your problems should stop once you get that stock box on. That filter you have might have a larger pipe diameter requiring a maf scale, plus yea, compensations will throw off the fuel ratios. The wideband should read what it reads as it's a separate thing to the ecu, it'll just repor...

Re: V6 STI TIMING

I found the sti map was worse and just worked off the standard wrx map on my 2000 gc8 when I had it. I also had a vf34 on it, but also flex fuel with bigger injectors, stock box intake, I suggest you get one, and ran 18psi. Get rid of that eboost thing and return control to the ecu. Also get a perri...

No, normal is plumb back. It's probably cracking too soon, you need to adjust the spring tension.

Re: 2000 WRX Car starting issue- Brant?

The black plugs should be in the same spot as the greens. Hope you find them. My previous wrx was a 2000 gc8, it definitely has them.

Re: 2000 WRX Car starting issue- Brant?

Unplug the green ones and plug the black ones together. Turn the ignition to acc / on, just before start and look at the check engine light. Long flashes are first numbers, fast flashes are 2nd numbers. Long long long short is 31. Take notes and you may have to go through the repeating sequence a fe...

Throw an image up on imgur. Hopefully it's just a sway bar mount or end link. Those are easy fixed. Anyway, some one will know what it is when you post it. :)

Also you should have done the water pump and thermostat too. But ah well. It would have also been a good excuse to change any old manky coolant.

Re: THE BOOST SOLINOID, what does it do? do we really know?

This makes no sense. The boost control solenoid has a very specific and documented function. To bleed pressure away from the waste gate control arm and to regulate it at a specific psi as read from the map sensor based upon ecu programmed duty cycles for that solenoid. The boost control solenoid is ...

Oh yea, you just need to know how. I can't help with that unfortunately. Not because I won't, I just don't know the alarm wiring.

Re: HELP !, 2011 Subaru WRX STI won't start(immobilized), alarm keeps buzzing!

Find a specialist and get the brant-sigma removed. If you're in the uk, you'll need to find one. If it's a uk import and you're in Australia, then we might be able to tell you a place that's near you that removes the garbage from your car.

Re: Running rich and misfire

Dang. I thought you added a pressure gauge to the line to test it, not had an aftermarket one. Good to know you tracked it down.

Change the oil again too, probably contaminated pretty bad.

Re: Fuel/boost cut? Misfire?

Yea, run wastegate pressure. Remove the T vac lines from the turbo, wastegate and boost controller. Run a new clean non restricted vac line between the turbo positive nipple and the wastegate actuator bypassing the boost controller. Block the in line to the boost controller. That's the best way, but...

Re: Fuel/boost cut? Misfire?

The cause of the problem is the 3 and a half (!) inch turbo back.

You need a tune to compensate the boost control solenoid duty cycle as it's expanding the exhaust gas a lot faster now.

Re: Running rich and misfire

Sounds like it's running rich as F. Get a wideband o2 sensor in there, or at least get some sort of monitoring. FreeSSM might work, I'm not sure. Is it running the 97 wrx ecu? Difference when unplugging maf? Are the injectors really standard? Check the crank case ventilation valve that it's working....

Well rear gd fits in gc8, so give it a try. They are tight though, so may be a little gappy with gc8 in gd.
