Re: GC8 turbo intake pipe

I have the AVO silicone pipe and fits nicely and good quality. I think the performance gains were so minimal I didn't feel any improvement after it was fitted and retune but you'll notice more induction noise.

Looks awesome. Did the GD drive shafts need to be shortened to fit a GC8? Do the tyres scrub at all?

Its TD05-18g, TD05-20g, and then next up from that is Dom 1.5 XTR.

Re: First drag with my GC8 at Eastern Creek

Its been a long time since I last run my GC8 at Calder but at the time with 170kw atw I did 13.3@105mph with a APS r spec kit with SR30 turbo running at 18psi. Back then I still had the factory 5 speed and best 60ft was 1.85.

Re: GC8 WRX idling issue

Good to hear you fixed the problem. I was just wondering how the response is with the DOM 1.5xtr on your GC8 and what revs do you reach max boost? I'm assuming you have a 2lt and no avcs. Do you run 98 and e85?

Intercooler pipe question

I have a APS R Spec FMIC on my GC8. The hot side hose that runs underneath motor needs replacing. This particular hose appears to be like radiator hose rather than silicon like the rest of the kit. The closest size pipe I can get is 2" but the aps hose internal diameter is about 2 mill larger. ...

Were you just after specific information or a photo copy of specific pages? I have the service manual but I still use it and refer to it.

Re: New Products coming from Blouch Turbo

What would the spool be like for a 2lt no avcs with dom 1.5xtr 7cm?

Is there much difference between the new dom 1.5 and the td05 20g xtr 7cm?

Re: EJ207 block with EJ205 heads

I had this done earlier this year but the only difference was I had kelford springs and 268/264 cams, shimless buckets and ARP head studs done while the motor was out. I'm sure the EJ207 block with EJ205 heads would be very reliable but like any mods done the reliability has a lot to do with a good ...

Re: Gc8 expected power gains

Power gains will very and depends on how aggressive the tune is and whether its done on a happy dyno. Back in the day the GC8 I have made ~122kw atw with an APS TBE, stock intake and unichip tune @16psi on the dyno used at the APS factory. I think it was just over 90kw atw standard and at the time a...

V6 heads v's V7 heads

Just a quick question about Sti heads and spool up. If V6 heads were fitted to ej207 short block how would the spool compare toa setup with the same block but with V7 avcs heads with the same supporting mods say for td05-20g? Would there be a huge difference? The reason I ask if I already have a pow...

Brembo brake / wheel clearance for GC8

Currently I have 17 x 7 +40 wheels on my GC8. There appears to be approximatley 15mm clearance from front caliper to closest part of wheel spoke. Based on that would there be enough clearance to fit brembos?

Thanks

Re: GotItRex Impreza GDB STI LX

God that was awesome and would have definitely surprised a lot of quick cars. Was the terminal speed 124mph? was wondering how much GC8 WRX weighed compared to an LX?, what's the specs of ATP WRX gold turbo? running e85?, and how much hp did it make on the gotitrex dyno? Thanks.

Price could be anything from $4500 to $6500++ and will definitely be at the higher end if you get brembos and R180 diff as well etc.

Re: WRX GC8 Gearbox Replacement options

If you're willing to spend some extra $$$ I woud highy recommend getting a STI 6 speed fitted. I had JDM 2006 sti 6 speed fitted to my 99 GC8 with a DCCD Pro. The handling has improved and the gearing is awesome. So much more responsive and always seems like you have a gear for any situation. The S...

Yeah I saw that one the other day.

Re: LGT ej255 into gc8

I was looking into putting a 2.5lt into my GC8 but appears you need an engineers certificate to make it legal. Soon as I found out about that I decided not to do it and if I do an engine upgrade I'll go the EJ207. Sounds like less hassle as well.
