Hi,
Anyone in contact with Sharpie? Tried PM... A contact telephone number would be great - PM me if you have his number. Thanks.

Re: P1089 error

One other thing - do not remove the TGV motors. I haven't done this but I understand that the butterfly valves are spring loaded and will move - then they won't line up with the motors and there's no obvious way to line them up again to reassemble them with the manifold on.

Re: P1089 error

I've had that error. I disconnected the TGV connector, cleaned it with some electrical contact cleaner (do not use just anything - must be the correct stuff), reconnected. The error never re-occured. I also put a can of upper cylinder cleaner through - standard Subaru stuff and procedure. That may h...

Track Car Safety Ideas/Experiences

In 1999 one of the more experienced club members said "you need to be able to reach the extinguisher while hanging upside down in your seat". Very prescient of him... Hence I've always mounted it on the drivers seat. Always passed scrutiny. Yes high tensile bolts, and a decent metal rail b...

Re: Help required 12 WRX mishimoto catch can kit install

Thanks Kurt. Sounds simple. Mishimoto looks good but what other brands should I look at? Looks like I need a 3 port can for the valve covers and a 2 port for the pcv. Then a bunch of fittings and a few meters of hose. Since I have a stock engine bay layout, space is tight so small cans will be needed.

Re: Help required 12 WRX mishimoto catch can kit install

Did you get this sorted out? Sorry I'm not able to help and have a similar question... I'm considering installing the same kit on a MY06 Sti. But the kit is designed for 08 onward and I'm wondering what I'll need to change to make it fit to an 06, or even if that is possible. For the high cost of th...

WTB TGV motor for EJ, RHS

Looking for a TGV motor (not sensor) for the right hand bank (drivers side). Its for an MY06 STI but I think they are the same for all EJ motors where fitted. Hopefully you've done a TGV delete and have one of these sitting around? Mine has failed, so looking for a good used one that's done <<100k o...

Re: Phillip Island - Round 4 Replacement

There's no 'other'. And no obvious choice among hundreds. The 3 entrants so far have all picked different classes. PIARC is running Group 5 Sprint Classes from A to K. I checked the regs. Talks about carburettors - what are they? Class C looks right (road registered) except for the definition of &qu...

Re: Phillip Island - Round 4 Replacement

Kurt, good call. What class should I nominate for my car on the PIARC form (A to J)? As you know its in clubman class running R-spec tyres. Thanks.

Re: Wiper Blades for 2003 STi

Impreza's since day 1 have 22" and 17" blades. You'll find that Autobarn don't stock 17" and will try to sell 16" and tell you that size as the correct size... which is just wrong. I like the 'Trico NeoForm', not sold in Oz, but the 'Trico Tech' beam blade look the same. Expensiv...

In-car video in car 88. My 2nd fastest lap of the day was in this shortened session (my 22nd lap of the day), starts at 4:40. Quite happy with that result except I know the car can go much quicker just as it is... keen to go again at Winton. :)

Re: Fuel Level Sensor (sender) fault?

Thanks for the reply. The fault code was P0463 Fuel Level Sensor Circuit High Input. The fuel gauge shows empty when the circuit from the sensor is open circuit and if this happens on 2 starts consecutively the ECU records that code and shows the CEL. After reseating all the connectors and cleaning ...

Re: P. Mu Club Racer

I'm here. The balance with the HC800 rear + Club Racer front on the track and with R-specs is good. The fronts have more bite but the point of lockup/ABS seems balanced across all 4. I don't run the Club Racers on the road except for bedding in... and doing that on sticky road tyres the fronts are l...
