Can I reuse a ej207 crankshaft

Postby Justinc1981 » Sat Jan 13, 2018 9:57 pm

Hi all,
I’ve removed the engine from my 2002 sti and removed the heads and found a cracked exhaust valve (great), so while I was at it I thought I’d strip the short block down and replace the main and rod bearings- my question is if I get the crankshaft measured and all is within Subaru spec is it ok to use ?

The surface on the bearings and crank look smooth and not all chopped up engine was running fine except the slight miss at times due to the exhaust valve

Thanks
Jc

Provided it within spec (surface, cracks, size).
Then yes. That's what specs exist for.
