2002 b4 liberty, ej25t engine conversion from 2012 wrx

Postby jake87 » Thu Sep 28, 2017 10:13 am

Ive just purchased a 2002 b4 liberty twin turbo with a blown engine.

I can also get my hands on a wrecked 2012 wrx with low k's cheap.

Is there anything that will stop me from doing a engine/turbo and running gear conversion to the b4??

Thanks in advance.. [FACE WITH STUCK-OUT TONGUE AND WINKING EYE]

Very much so...

The B4 ECU and wiring won't run the GR 2.5L

Running gear the GR gearboxes use ABS sensors for vehicle speed, so you won't have a working speedometer..

Most common thing I have seen people do is go single turbo. This will involve a long block and ECU from a GD WRX (from what I have read, they plug into the B4 harness) or even a halfcut from a JDM B4 and swap it out and retune for single snail and compression ratio.

But 100% a nightmare to try swap the GR gear into the car and get it all working properly

Good luck
