Currently running Nueton 245/35 x 19 on our 2009 WRX.

Nice and quite and good grip.

$720 for four fitted.

Great tyre so far, 1200k's in and happy with the value for money.

Just replaced standard Adrenalin RE001 after 32000k's with Potenza S001's.
The guys at Bridgestone Select in Ferntree Gully were great and did a top job too!
Bridgestone are currently running a "4 for the price of 3" thing, so i couldn't go wrong.

Bridgestone Potenza S001 (supercedes RE050)
225/45/17
Fitted and aligned for $244/corner! :coffee: Apparently normal price is $320/.

Got some Potenza RE-01R s on the car, 215-45-17 car handles amazing with these, no sidewall flex at all, grippy as hell. Very good tyre.

It has been a while since my last post being very happy with my daily drive choice of a MY06 WRX with standard wheels so 215/45 R17.
Now is time for some tyres which won't hit the budget too bad as I am building onto my house at the moment...
anyway have read lots of this thread and read about a few and I am leaning towards:
1. Kumho KU31 @ $185 per
2. Potenza Adrenalin RE002 @ 210 per
I assume the Bridgestone tyres will be better quality and possibly stiffer sidewalls better performance but a little harsher?
happy to hear about others in this price range and opinions, cheers

Hi Guys,

Purchased a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 3 back in Feb for $870 fitted with nitrogen for the standard wheels at bob jane in North Melb (Elizabeth st).
215/45 R17

You get free refills and checks of the nitrogen and "warrenty" for tyres against accidental punctures etc (pay the difference depending on wear)

Overall great tyre especially in the wet. They were used in F1 with the Renaults going around the track. Comfortable, not too noisy and great wear and grip.

hey i have the Adrenilins 215 45 r17 on my 98 wrx. i would definetly recomend them. i paid 920 for the full set fitted. they have heaps of grip in wet and dry. i actually read a review on them and the other big names and they rated as one of the best and were also one of the cheapest. i dont know what there milage will be like especially with the way i drive it but better to have good tyres that dont last than sheet ones.

hope this helps.

Using Achilles 123s in 265/35/18 really happy grippier and better life than the KU36s I used before. Much cheaper too!

Hey all,
Got a set of Federal 595 Super Steel's (215/45/17) fitted to my GC8 the other week for $136 each fitted and balanced at Bob Janes in Ringwood. Lets be honest here they are not performance tyres and I have read mixed reviews on them but thought I would give them ago. I havent had much experience with tyres cause I have never owned a car long enough to go through a set, so realistically I am comparing them to the Dunlop SP Sport 01 on my MY11.
Overall for the price I believe them to be good. They have very good dry grip and stopping ability. However they are a bit shaky from heavy braking in the wet but still have a decent amount of cornering grip.
At this stage I believe for the price they are quite good but we will see how they go when I break them in more.

Got a set of Potenza RE002's fitted this morning by Donellans in Box Hill.

Cost me $880, Bridgestone have a 'get 4, Pay for 3' Deal at the moment until the 31st of May.

I ended up getting 51,295 kms out of the set of RE001's I had on it previously. The fronts were erm...well worn... :giggle:
