Put spare mags on daughter #4's Impreza...

Postby Delivan » Fri Oct 28, 2016 4:08 pm

I had a couple of sets of spare WRX mags lying around so I got some 2nd hand Achillies Sports (only done 50klm) and fitted them and put them on D#4's Impreza.. I painted the calipers red and the result is a much nicer looking car.

It's got it.. T35 from Premier on Pickering street. It just looks untinted because of the angle of the pic you are looking out through the windscreen towards the setting sun.. from side on it is dark..

Yea, it looks like it isn't there. :) Should be first upgrade to any car, in fact all adm cars should have it by law like we have to have stability control by law on new cars.

Want to paint my calipers? They're that sheet red and I want them black. :)

Nice looking car anyway, the trims look good.

Looks nice and clean! Your daughter is lucky

Only thing i can suggest is VHT Niteshades on the tail lights (or a vinyl wrap). I really dislike the look of the stock tail lights on the hatches. I painted mine with Red VHT Niteshades, $20 from supercheap and only used 1/4 of a can. It looks pretty nice and can be removed with metho if you decide to in the future. I made a mistake on mine at first and decided to remove it and start again... took a hour to get it all off but they looked as good as new.

Second attempt i'm more happy with

That looks good but I don't mind the clear look and it's not really worth spending any money on this car. It only cost $5k and although it is mechanically excellent, it has minor hail damage and high ks .. As soon as she gets off her "P"s she will probably get a rex anyway. This is an auto and she really wants a manual but for $5k and for only 12 months or so she is happy to live with an auto. Personally I love auto rexs. My wife's previous rex was an auto and it was soo much fun and soo responsive. If i could put an auto in my blue one i would do it tomorrow..

Those red lights look sik. I should do that on mine as it's got aftermarket clear things on it. So just sprayed on the outside?

Yep its pretty easy... i have a spare set of tail lights that I was going to paint tomorrow because I want mine a little darker. You can adjust the redness/darkness by doing more coats. In that pic I did 3 coats.

Ill take some pics tomorrow and do a 'how to' write up post tomorrow :)

If you value your daughters life, you would remove those tyres.

They would have to be the worst tyre i have ever used on a car ever.

No offense.

Yes I know. I have had them and for spirited driving, especially in the wet, they are very ordinary. My son had them on his sti and my 2nd eldest daughter has them on her rex now but for normal driving, they are fine. I certainly wouldn't go to a track day in the wet with them on or fang it around the mountains but on an AWD car driven sensibly they are fine..I would not have given them to her if they were not, but thanks for the heads up and yes...they are not for the fast driver ...

I didnt even like them for everyday driving, braking was so much poorer on my sti.
I am just totally against them.
