I've just purchased a '14 wrx premium and noticed the steering wheel wear and tear is excessive, bordering on defected. It's only 3 year 5 month old and has 5 year extended warranty. I'm taking it in on Wednesday to have it assessed but in the email it was stated the warranty doesn't cover general wear and tear and will only replace the wheel if it is deemed a defect.
What do you guys think my chances are?

Some people have quite acidic sweat naturally , possibly the previous owner did...or maybe they liked energy drinks. Sticky acid palms from a red bull etc will trash a wheel quick smart.
