Tune in QLD

Postby SJTriggs » Sat Oct 17, 2015 10:20 pm

Does anyone in the Brisbane/Sunshine Coast/Gold know of any good places to get a tune?
I have been looking around getting a few quotes in the $800's. Is this pretty standard?

I drive a MY10 WRX Hatch, engine is mostly stock. Mainly want to get a tune for smoother and leaner power as an everyday driver.

You don't want lean...lean is bad (hot) , and yes, $800+ for a tune. We live near Dayboro and go to Matt Spry at Nerang for a tune.. or C&J at Underwood for the uni chip rex..

Really because most people I have spoken to have said that the stock maps for the EJ255 are unnecessary rich throughout the while power range.

They might be wrong or it may just be with the more modern EJ255 engines.

Good to know that $800~ is around about the average price.

AFAIK ....Rich, especially with 98ron, means cooler engine temps.

Yeah your are correct, the main purpose for wanting a tune is to re map the accelerator pedal. This wont be happening anytime soon now anyways... Have a broken air compressor :(
