Link ECU how do you know?

Postby stockhorse » Fri Oct 14, 2016 12:42 pm

Since a Link ecu fits into the original Subaru oem casing how do you tell that the internals are Link ? Do you have to open the casing to see if anything is marked Link or is there a way to tell externally ?

Only way to be 100% sure is to open up the ECU case and check.

In the GD's its in the passenger foot-well. Remove the carpet, then the metal plate that is secured with 3 x 8/10mm nuts.

ECU is under there, remove it and open up the case.

LINK/VIPEC ECU will have their logos and a cable for tuning purposes.

Thanks mate, I have it out just thought they may have a sticker or something on the factory case to save opening it.

They do come with a sticker, that is usually placed on the ECU cover when installed inside, but not a guarantee.

Cheers
