Tuning GC8

Postby GRK-90D » Sat Jan 14, 2017 8:25 am

So I'm looking for a tuner around Sydney to tune my GC8 WRX on E85 with the ECUtek thats already in my car.

Any suggestions on where to go? I know the usual Autotech, Pulse Racing and MSR but any other suggestions or feedback on the already mentioned?

I've been quoted by Spiro at Autotech between $880- $990 but he said because the GC8 has a basic ecu it may take longer and cost more.

TIA

not sure if anything has changed but the only places in Australia that could reflash my99/00 with ECUTEK was MRT in Sydney or S&J in SA, Autotech and all the other ECUTEK dealers only did my01 onwards because the flash99 software wasn't worth it for the workshops with minimal my99/00's getting tuned, anyways there are cheaper better options even if you already have the ECUTEK licence

Ok so what are the better options? And Spiro at Autotech has already given me the quote as mentioned so they can tune 99 GC8s

cool when i ECUTEKed my car it was only the ones i said (in 2008), power fc with z32 MAF is a better option to get rid of the unreliable my99/00 MAF, or eculabs which is what im going soon have a google on it can run MAFless and lots more, or i will have a haltech ps1000 up for sale soon if you would be interested, bottom line is you want to get rid of that crappy MAF not just because of potential engine damage but they cost around $200 a piece which adds up, maybe Autotech can connect a more reliable MAF off a different model with ECUTEK not sure but i would ask them if i was you
