Peoples..
Since I've done my resonatorectomy.. When i put my foot down hard I hear like a deep sound from my airbox which sounds much like a hole in you exhaust.. Its comming from the actual stock box.. im thinking is this normal or a AFM issue? Should/Can I reset the AFM?

Mine does the same thing, I dont think there is anything wrong, but if you take of a resonator, you are going to get more noises...thats why its there afterall.

REXTSE, with the inlet resonator removed, you'll hear extra air suction and also more throaty engine noise (a tuned NA like sound). As has been said, the resonator is a silencer on the intake, in the same way a resonator in the exhaust silences some rumble/noise.

Mine might make that noise, but I guess it spools up too quick for me to notice/care.

So there's no nee to cover the intake hole with a mesh or anythin? worried about the filter getting wet or extra dirty (live on a dirt road)

Did you end up getting this mod done Domomunk? I've just done the Foz. Yet to drive it but was a pretty easy mod. If you still need help I'm in Mulgrave just near the Monash.

has anyone done this to an MY06? I started to do it about 2 months ago, but I seemed to be taking off a hell of a lot of clips, all the way around the front of the car, so I decided to put them all back and leave it there.

I have just done this to my 07 pig and its pretty straight forward, about twenty minutes with the right tools or 40 mins with a pair of good engineers pliers lol.

If your in the Carlton or Essendon area I'd be more than happy to give you a hand. I was very impressed with the results and sound the car now makes.

Thanks for the offer, but I had the wheel off the other day (putting mudflaps on with the wrong tools!) and I think I know how to get at it now  I'll let you know how it goes...

So long resonator!!! :)

One question though-are you supposed to re-fit the duct that runs from the edge of the bonnet to the hole in the guard where it previously fit to the resonator?

Or are you supposed to leave it off and block up the hole to prevent hot engine air entering the guard?

I have put mine back on and there is a gap around the edge of the duct where it enters the guard as the resonator is no longer there for it to join to.
