I'm going to do a quick rim job on one and see how it comes up - my rims are off the car & don't have tyres.

I also used squirts recently, results came up awesome, two months later the paint is still looking sweet. I used squirts grey primer, satin black then a satin clear coat. If the rim's are off the car take your time with it!

I only ever do the outside - unless you're doing a very light colour i.e white!

I read an article in a stick book once that said its the one thing you have to do before you die... a rim job.
Seems lifes not complete till its been done by and to you....

But back on topic.. if you are going to do a group buy, and diy rim painting it may be a good idea to get the numbers up, everything prepared then hire Simes paint booth/oven to bake them dry.. check out his hire charges. pretty reasonable if you split the fee between a few members.

You can even hire a real spray gun and not use those crappy paint cans...
Makes a lot of sense to me, and you can than get any color you want mixed up...

THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING :x :x

I am trying to apply to masking tape around the edge, but its not sticking to the rubber! Or, Ill get about half way around the rim, and then the tape starts to move out of place.
Not sure if its my crappy taping skills or crappy tape :?
All I know is its made me pissed off :first:

^ I like

But it would probably be a few decks of cards to do all 4 rims :|

Nice work Daz punk

Wouldn't be better if you paint the entire rim instead of the outer side ?
