Just an update .Off to Granville next weekend ( was suppose to be today )to take delivery of a identical engine package that was ran by "The HULK"in pro am ( 3rd place !)in 2013 ,abliet with an S6 Sequential :D .If all goes to plan now ,we will be entering the Calder round to do a "run in,shakedown, track time" whatever you like to call it .It will be an exciting time for myself after a 3 year build ,to just have a very very soft go in it .Things will leak, need to be changed, but nevertheless,it will a accomplishment. We then have 3 weeks to get to Winton weekly to just get it sorta half shook down ........no where near the amount of time we needed ,but as we say " sheet happens " After WTAC .....I ordered a Autotech billet block ,so then our true testing will start for the 2015 season .
To be sponsored by Wrightracing,Autotech Engineering, and Pro speed for the upcoming 2015 season( as well as this years WTAC)is very humbling, considering the car has not even ran yet .
A Massive thank you to all who have provided bits and sheet, you know who you are .
Cheers Pt

JBonDss....All builds are epic ...this one just a tad more .Have to admit ,looking forward to the testing stage will be a lot of fun ,and the first full WOT down the straight at Phillip island .Wtac will be a different kettle of fish ,unfortunately ,with very limited R/D ,we will most likely struggle but on the positive side ,prep us for our full on go for 2015.......

slight update.
Motor in ,wiring nearly completed,Dry sump lines all done, fuel all done ,intercooler modified for shorter piping(@500mm!! total)Touchpad for controls installed,4" exhaust nearing completion,(work of art)
Suspension gets done monday week, corner weighted etc
Just got to tighten all the speedflow fittings, then double check,Power up the Autronic then off to the dyno to run in .
Tune the gearbox for the flat shift on the dyno, now that will be fun!!
Very excited now, been a massive haul to get this far.
Wont be at the Calder meet, will have to do a track day elsewhere to sort suspension and other glitches that arise.
Then off to Autotech the week of WTACfinal tune AND the announcement soon of a V8 SUPERCAR driver is having a drive @WTAC.He should be well psyched up after Bathurst, and will be exciting to give the 22B every chance of a great outing(if nothing breaks!!lol)

So who's got what planned for next year?

I've got a 12V cooler seat thing to keep driver cool, electric power steering and an electric water pump. Also put in a GDB STI complete dash :) Not really interested in going faster.. scares me enough as it is lol.

i just sent pistons and rods to top torque to get my motor on the way. heads will get sent soon to get a port, shimless buckets and cams, still have alot of gear to check off the shopping list though, trying to not get too silly..

bazza i seem to recall you welding in your own cage? where did you get your kit and what did you have do to get it cams approved?

What engine are you building? 2.2 or 2.5?

Yes the cage is DIY, no kit. It meet all cams specs but I wasn't interested in racing in any event that required an actual cage so I've never had it approved / log booked. In the cams rules is says as long as the cage is safe it doesn't have to be approved / log booked (unless of course the event requires a cage).

I know Hodgey had his supplied by Bond and he welded his in. Dane had a local guy do his.

thanks baz, i might have a chat to bond. Think i have the skills and tools to diy, so may aswell have a go. Want to be able to do tarmac rallies in the future so i may aswell get it logbooked.

motor is just a 2004 207 shortblock that the ringlands went, dropping in some 92.5mm wieseco's/ manley h-beams, arp 625's, gtx3076 ar.63 etc.. just gonna stick with the trusty old 2L.

was out with JBonDSS on monday to test out his new forged 2.5 at tampered, far out he has the worst luck :(

Serious!! Fk that sucks.

Yeah trusty 2L is awesome, very easy to drive fast and so much fun when that turbo hits.

Little update. After a very busy family time ,we are back into it.
After lots of angst, decisions, decisions.......I bit the bullet and ordered a New Haltech Elite 2500.Yes everyone says motec etc but value for dollar and the features.Should be a nice fit.
Boot has been painted,New Vortex wing on "real" woven Carbon Fibre, super light weight and yes its big 8) ......
So off to finish the wiring and will be fired as soon as possible.
Then motor out ,refine a few things then off in January to have tuned. Will be ran in on 108 race fuel,c how that goes but ultimately will be on E85.
First event will be the NSW hillclimb event at Bathurst....fingers crossed. But then again so was WTAC but thats another story..
Cheers
