Thanks to Kurt and all the organisers - a great day, well run, again! Special mention to the scheduler who picked a perfect weather day :)
Looking at the times I surprised myself -- should have been in group 3 -- very pleased with that. Interesting mix of cars and drivers to watch and run with. Lots of track time - I did 41 timed laps plus the passenger session. Thanks to my pit buddy Snowy and photographer/crash-test-passenger Dave. A few people MIA (Grant!) and a few dropped out - hopefully nothing too serious. See you next time - I'll skip Calder, so see you at Rexmas. :)

Also want to say thank you to organisers and everyone involved for making it another great event. Even the Spring rain held off, but the bug splatter and birds! Hmm.. what the hell were the birds thinking flying so low!

This is my 4th event with the club and each one has been thoroughly enjoyable.

Now to deal with the track bug , mod bug, and the mrs grilling :chair:

Some pics i took with my phone popcorn

Was parked beside Tony's very clean version 6 STI that still shows how quick it is even though its 15 years old, pumped out a 1:26xx with A048 semis, tbe, tune, swaybars, lowered maybe and -3.5 camber. The MY15 looks so tall in comparison, now i want a GC8 again :giggle:

Image

Also shared a garage with Shane and his very nice MY12 WRX hatch, thanks Shane! A bit of musical chairs for us juggling parking spots but well done to him for knocking a huge chunk of time off his previous PB, those AD08Rs are the goods punk

Image

And its not Sandown if you don't spot a couple of Porsches

Likewise Shane, you are so well prepared for everything, even lent me sun shades and gloves , truly awesome
Always fun duelling with Tom, the MY15 is 10 years newer so its mostly in the car. Subaru have done a great job with the new chassis allowing novices like me to easily push to the limits but it still caught me out a couple of times now when i overstep the limits so definitely still got to respect it even on stock power, and still much more driving improvement needed.

You sure did that Shane!! Hence your laptimes kept tumbling through out the day , well done mate

Great Pic.

I would like to thank everyone that made my first WRX Club track day an absolute pleasure to attend.
I was quite nervous at first as this was the first time i had done anything like this, but everyone made me feel right at home.
Special thanks to Shane and Zhe for all of their advice and help.
Kurt - thanks for organizing the day and answering my questions in the weeks leading up to the event.
I had an absolutely amazing time and can't wait for my next track day.

I have made a couple of Videos with overlay if anyone want to have a look: https://youtu.be/pb07_VtQwgo

Dave will be a busy boy over the next few days and regrets he won't have the pics done until Monday. hmmm
But...he has very good excuse to be distracted - tomorrow he picks up one of the first special edition Golf R wagons to arrive downunder, and its a rather good thing:

I'm Guessing the R Wagon passed emission tests with flying colours :P

The overlay on the Video was done with a program called Dashware (free) and the data was captured with a data logging app on my iPhone called "Harry's Laptimer".
The video footage was taken with a Go Pro Hero 4 Silver.

I exported the data from my phone in a CSV file and synced it with the Video on Dashware. Its a reasonably easy process.
Hope this helps.

I drove his new R ... Very very quick, slick and great noises. I see the hatch won Top Gear's hot hatch comparison. I see why.

I've put some photos up on the Motorsport gallery forum.
