this is one of the "racer" gauges that do not require a control box, and also are 60mm unlike the older racer ones that where only 52mm, and is one of the only defi gauges that do boost in PSI, rather than BAR

hummm one thing i cant work out does the racer gauge adjust the brightness of the gauge when the headlights are on?

it has a Illumination connection, (i guess tap in from the head unit) but i cant see anywhere it talk about day/night modes like the CR and BF models have fully adjustable brightness

since ADR 18 requires all gauges to have adjustable brightness i want to do it right the first time and not have to think about it again

For the boost gauge in PSI you're looking at $250. Let me know if you want one.

Cheers, Adam

Yep so i bought one and LOVE it, and the backlight is on full with your headlights off and then when your put your headlights on it dim's, so i guess that is considered adjustable brightness.

Yeah see your not "aloud" to mount them on the pillar so mine is mounted on the left of the dash see pic. i got a 60mm in PSI Tuspeed had to order it in special and even then they sent the wrong one lol's so it took a little while but i was happy to wait and get the right one.

i used the double sided tape stuff that came with the gauge and it works a treat and been holding strong since i got it.

Yep no mounting on A pillars as it's above the highest point of the dash. this does also mean people who mount GPS's on windshields are also illegal but cop's HATE gauges because they assume your a hoon if you have one, because the that's the only reason they think you would want one.

Does your steering wheel count as your dash? if so would a single guage pillar be ok?

I really wanted it on the pillar :(

I also bought my Defi Racer from Adam after reading this thread
I got it in Bar though, and mounted it in same spot but more towards the corner next to the pillar
