T70 torx

Postby EREXON » Mon Mar 18, 2013 8:13 pm

Hi Adam,

Do you have the T70 torx bit in stock.
Ordered one from the states and it got lost after 1month wait.

Dieing to change the gearbox oil and can't find a torx bit.

I read that you once had them in stock? Any luck? These bolts won't budge even my diff bolt is soooo tight.... This will be fun :wall:

I am not sure why people order these tools from o/s when you can buy them from places like Total Tools, Bearing Wholesalers and other industrial suppliers, even some Bunnings and Masters have them.

The reason I ordered from O/S was because I tried bunnings, masters, autobarn, super cheap, total tools, repco.

No one had anything larger than T50. I did find a T60 which some ppl say works but made things worse.

So then I ordered from O/S and they failed to deliver twice.

If I knew Adam had them earlier it would have saved me a lot of trouble. I don't think I'm the only one who has struggled to find them.

Will drop past after work today and pick one up!

Might need more than one the way these bolts care tightened. I can't understand why they are so bl00dy tight :wall:

Even my rear diff is super tight. I put a jack on the breaker bar and the whole car raised without the bolt coming loose!

trick is to tighten until the seal cracks then untighten

I'll add that to the list of things to try. Thanks!

I'm also having the guys at work make a little fixture that I can attach the socket to and hit with a hammer. Apparently the short distance of a solid plate and a impact can crack them.

I'll try just about anything at the moment :hairpull:

So seems like the right tool did the job. Hit the ratchet with a hammer a few times in both directions and then breaker bar cracked it right off!

Thanks Adam for hooking me up with torx bit :cheer:

Had exactly the same problem went to all the above shops, total tools had a t60 they said it might work, so I tried it and made the bolt worse. Then I got a t70 from tuspeed, had no chance with a normal ratchet, even a extension bar did nothing.

On my last desperate attempt I used a 2m long hollow pole from a outdoor umbrella, its amazing how much more torque I was able to get through such a long pipe. The huge crack the bolt made when it finally came off I thought I snapped it.

Hi Adam,

Do you have a 13mm square for the rear diff bolt????

I am having the same issue where the 1/2" drive is chewing into the bolt because there is slight movement. The square is perfect 13mm.

Can't undo my diff bolt nervous
