The Impreza WRX Club Forum Rules and Guidelines


1.Forum Membership
The Impreza WRX Club is an incorporated association registered in Victoria ABN 47 741 276 and Forum Membership is at the discretion of the clubs Administrators / moderators. By registering and logging on you agree to follow the forum rules and guidelines.


2. Usage Agreement
You agree that the views and opinions of users are not those of the Impreza WRX Club or it’s members and the club cannot to be held liable for views expressed in this forum. You may not attempt to hold us liable for any damages resulting from the use or malfunction of this forum. You also accept all responsibility as 'the Author' of any content posted.


3. You will be banned or your contribution will be edited, removed or not published if the Administrators / Moderators consider it to be:

3.1 defamatory, or otherwise unlawful or that it violates laws regarding harassment, discrimination, privacy or contempt, or violates any other applicable laws.

3.2 intentionally false or misleading,

3.3 an infringement of intellectual property rights or copyright. If you wish to refer to material on another website or forum we recommend you seek permission from the author and you include an attribution in your message.

3.4 of nuisance value, abusive or offensive, threatening, including obscenity, blasphemy and racial vilification, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, political, religious, sexually-oriented or discriminatory, or that may infringe any intellectual property or violate any applicable laws. Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned. We may also inform your service provider, or the owner of the registered domain from where the offending posts are originating from. The IP address of all posts is recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions.

3.5 inappropriate, off topic or vexatious. For example The Impreza WRX Club reserves the right to reject contributions that have been widely canvassed in the forum. It also reserves the right to reject contributions from participants who seek to dominate the discussion,

3.6 compromising the privacy of yourself, other contributors or of The Impreza WRX Club Administrators / moderators, or containing inappropriate personal information,

3.7 Seeking to endorse/Sell commercial products or activities or to solicit business, without permission from The Impreza WRX Club . This includes profit and non profit organisations. Any attempt to do so will be a form of agreement to pay The Impreza WRX Club for this advertising and you will be invoiced accordingly.

3.8 deliberate provocation of other Impreza WRX Club members,

3.9 a posting on behalf of a suspended member or impersonating.

3.10 Flaming and slandering of the Impreza WRX Club Inc, its members, other individuals, organisations or other internet forums.

3.11 Failure to comply in some cases may lead to you having your Forum membership revoked immediately ( see Rule 3 above ).
The following is the process for dealing with any MINOR breaches in forum rules:
* Members will now receive one warning (via PM or e-mail)
* For any breaches of the rules following the warning members will be banned - a 1st offence after warning will incur a one week ban, a 2nd offence will incur a 4 week ban and a third offence will result in permanent removal of forum access.
* A record of each offence will kept for a period of 12 months, after which it will expire and be erased from the records. For example if you have one offence on record (1 week ban), and commit a second offence within 12 months, you will be banned for 4 weeks. If more than 12 months passes, and another offence is committed, it will be the only offence on file, and thus attract a 1 week ban.
* Members will be advised by the Forum Administrator (via e-mail) when they have been banned and for what reason. No further discussion or negotiation will be entered into and this e-mail will be for the specific purpose of communicating the details to the member.


4. The Impreza WRX Club will cancel the registration of visitors whose suggested login names are considered inappropriate. Grounds for refusal may include:

4.1 offensive content;

4.2 obscenity;

4.3 abusive;

4.4 defamatory content;

4.5 contempt;

4.6 incitement;

4.7 copyright infringement;

4.8 brand names or registered trademarks;

4.9 company or organisation names;

4.10 names of high-profile or public figures; or

4.11 names promoting political, religious, social or economic issues.

Only ONE Username is allowed per person. Any person found using more than one Username will have one or all of their Usernames deleted and may be banned from the forum.


5. Avatars
Avatars are strictly sized at 120x120 pixels. If you fail to comply you may have your Avatar rights revoked. Avatars must not be offensive, pornographic, obscene, blasphemous. The Impreza WRX Club does not permit remote avatars. Avatars must not breach intellectual property rights.

If your avatar is outside these guidelines, it may be replaced with

You may reload your avatar at anytime if this has occurred but failing to comply with the required size may result in a loss of your avatar rights.
It will then be up to the Administrators / Moderators to determine whether your avatar rights are reinstated.

Please also try and keep the file size of the avatar as small as possible.

6. Amending forum rules

We reserve the right to amend the Forum rules at any time and the enforcement of them is at the moderators' discretion.

7. Signatures

NO links/URL's/emails/Phone numbers or other contact details whatsoever. These are allowed in your profile only and operate from the relevant buttons below every post.
No pictures or graphics are allowed in your signature unless you are a Club Member.(See http://www.wrx.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=51525" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;), any images in signatures must follow these guidelines:
  • MAX width: 400px
  • MAX height: 100px
  • MAX file size: 100kB
  • Limited to ONE image
  • No images of ADVERTISING OF ANY SORT
  • All other forum rules (As listed within this rules 1-11) extend to image signature functionality.
  • Please also try and keep the file size of the avatar as small as possible.
Failing to comply with the required size may result in a loss of your signatures rights. It will then be up to the Administrators / Moderators to determine whether your avatar rights are reinstated.

You are allowed up to 200 characters only of reasonable colour and default font size.
(In addition to the graphic for Club Members as above).
Any breaches will be removed without notice.
All signatures must comply with Rule 3 above.
Committee & Current Advertisers are allowed relevant links/URL's.



8. Photo Gallery

Please only post pictures of your cars. The photo gallery is there to show off your rides, not anybody else’s. Any topics not deemed appropriate by the Administrators / Moderators will either be moved to the appropriate section or deleted without notice.

9. Frequently asked questions

The forum has been around a while now so most commonly asked questions such as exhaust size, type etc... have already been answered. Try using the forum search engine first before posting. If you cant find the answer you’re after, then ask your question. Try and be as specific as possible.

10. Quoting

When replying to someone else’s post, please try and keep the amount of replies in your new post too a maximum of three.

For example

Mr First Quote wrote:Hi this is the first example

Mr Second Quote wrote:Hi this is the second example

Mr Third Quote wrote:Hi this is the third example


Now this is my reply with a maximum of three quotes.

11. Posting Pics

When posting pictures on the forum please only post a link to a picture if the size is smaller than 800x600 pixels or the file size is smaller than 300 Kb. If pictures exceed either of these limits your picture or post may be deleted without warning.
