Injector issue....?

Postby wrxbouy » Thu Jan 05, 2012 1:51 pm

Hey all I have an issue with an 04 auto xt, seems to be missing when idling but ok when under load, not down in power. Bit of a clunking sound when initial start up and then rough idle. Its done 206kms and due for its 200k major. Are these top feed injectors or side feed? and what is std flow rate?

Thanks

Hey mate, on your left hand head, you will find an oil feed pipe. at the end of the pipe there is a small filter.
That usually compacts and breaks, causing this issue... very common. You will need to remove the shards of the filter, and also blow it out with an air line.

By memory the filter and bolt sits behind the cam timing cover on the left hand side on the front of the engine.
To get it out, looks like you might need to pull the timing belt covers off, cam sprockets and the rear cover to get to it.
