MEMBERSHIP ISSUES AND FAQ *READ HERE*

Postby Drew » Mon Jun 15, 2009 5:30 pm

Hi everyone.

On a regular basis we get queries from paid up club members that cant access the club members section of the forums.

There can be a number of reasons for this but all relate back to the fact that having access to the members section doesnt automatically happen just because you paid for a membership.

You need to register on the forums, you then need to send your forum username and your full name or membership number to membership@wrx.com.au I check emails most days so if you do this you will usually have access with 24-48 hours.

If you already have a forum account but didnt get access when you paid there can be a number of reasons
1. I missed adding you (i am human and mistakes happen)
2. You provided an incorrect username (belongs to another member or doesnt exist)
3. You didnt provide a username

Of course there may be other reasons but these are the main the the process is the same as above - just email me and i will fix it for you.

I hope that leaving this thread as a sticky might help some new members to the forums (be they new members to the club or members that have been around for years) with issues accessing the members section.

If you have any other issues with your membership - ie you haven't recieved your pack or you need to change your address or contact details please contact membership@wrx.com.au and I will try and help you out!

NOTE: I AM NO LONGER THE MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY, AND AM NO LONGER INVOLVED WITH THE WRX CLUB - PLEASE EMAIL MEMBERSHIP@WRX.COM.AU FOR ALL MEMBERSHIP ENQUIRIES

Membership FAQ - if you have a question email membership@wrx.com.au

Q: I need to update my details because I have moved house or changed my postage address or phone number
A: Please email your old details and your new details to membership@wrx.com.au and these will be updated for you.

Q: I changed my email address and updated my profile on the forums but I am not receiving club emails including reminders for renewals
A: The forums and the paid members database are separate. Just because you update your forums profile doesn’t automatically update the membership list. Please email membership@wrx.com.au with the new details

Q: I am a paid club member but don’t have access to the club members section.
A: Email membership@wrx.com.au with the username you are using to login. It may be a username was not provided on joining or renewal. As the forums and database are not automatically linked – giving access to the members section on the forums is manual.

Q: I am a new member and received my first magazine in the mail but my name isn’t listed in the new members section.

A: Content for the magazine is gathered up and often finalised a few weeks before the magazine goes out. So don’t worry – your name should appear in the next edition of the magazine.

Q: I have lost my membership card and I need to get a new one.
A: Email membership@wrx,com.au to advise of this. A new card can be sent to you at a cost of $5-00. This can be paid by cash at a meeting, cheque, credit card or bank deposit.

Q: I submitted my application online a week ago but I haven’t heard anything back yet?
A: ALL roles on the committee are purely volunteer basis. To allow me to have my own life membership processing is limited to once per week – hence why we advise to allow 2 weeks. Memberships will generally be processed on a weekend at present but this does change from time to time. If you want to check on your progress – you guessed it – email membership@wrx.com.au

Q: I received an email saying my application and payment were processed but it’s been over a week and I haven’t received my pack.
A: Email membership@wrx.com.au and advise of this. Australia Post does say wait up to 7 days from the date of posting – however if its been much longer – they do go missing from time to time, we can send you a new pack – you just have to ask.

Q: My membership has expired and I want to participate in an upcoming motorsport round.
A: Please submit your form allowing a minimum of 2 weeks notice before the event. Any shorter notice than this and you may not receive your renewal details in time.

Hi everyone – for those that haven’t met me I am Drew and I handle all the membership processing etc for the club.

We find the same issues often come up and have decided to write a bit of a FAQ for the website that will hopefully assist people with issues and how to resolve them.

The main thing to remember is if you have a question email membership@wrx.com.au

Hi Sean

This meeting is our AGM and Drew should be there. I cannot see any reason why you cannot join on the night. You also have the option to do it on line here: https://secure1.ilisys.com.au/wrxc/newmem.php

It normally takes a week or more for you to receive the membership card and other mail out information.

If you have any issues on the night please introduce yourself and I will assist where possible.

Folks,

I have taken over from Drew and have discovered most of the pitfalls of our system, the main one being that the membership officer is human. I don't have a super fancy system to let me know that I have just renewed an old member whose membership access to the forums has previously been discontinued.

In a nutshell, if you are a member and don't have access to the 'members only' section for the forums, please send an email with your membership number and forum name to membership@wrx.com.au and I'll fix it up.

Cheers,

Andrew

I've been waiting over two months for my membership pack, I have sent numerous emails to the club with not one single reply.
Am I going to get some sort of compensation as I cannot attend certain members only stuff or use my membership card for other approved activities.
Cheers Paul

please email membership@wrx.com.au and/or committee@wrx.com.au to follow up - I stood down from the role 12 months ago, and am no longer involved with the Club...

Good Luck!

Paul,

I am terribly sorry for this omission and will attend to it this weekend. I appreciate that it has been some time since you joined on 17 August.

I have separately responded to your e-mail (including a response to address any lost membership opportunity), but to repeat the key part here: Please be aware that you do not need your card to prove your membership to join events - you sign up after logging into the website and it tracks whether you are a current member or not. I can see that you have logged in and also that you have opened many of the invitations to our events, so please don't hesitate to come join in.

I did respond to your earlier e-mail too. Please check you received today's e-mails and send me a PM if not.

Regards,

Andrew

Hi,

I just entered your 8th of march day at Calder, I thought I was a paid up member of PIARC but it turns out I forgot to renew it last June. Can I just join your club now and alter my entry to reflect this change? and will I have enough time to get all this done before the 8th?

I'm no longer the membership officer, but yes you can, and you get a discount on the entry fee for good measure.

If you have a turbcharged Subaru you join as a Full member. if not, join as an Associate. Either way you get the discount.

Hi guys, whats the normal turn around once you have paid to become a member, how long do you stay pending? I bet there is some good reading in the members only section and I would love to have a sticky before the track day as this will be my first track day with the WRX (and second track day ever so I will am very new to this). Any info I can find in regards to brake pads etc would be valuable.

BTW paid for membership on Sunday night.

Hi Regal,

We are just going through a change over with membership so there may be a slight delay. PM me if you have any queries.
RE: Track day, just thoroughly read through supp regs as they will spell out what you need to bring.

Thanks,

I'm not doubting the need for prompt access to the members only areas, but the stuff you need on motorsport is available in a general access thread:
