2000 Bugeye Imobilizer problem

Postby 2000SOOBIE » Mon Jul 24, 2017 12:23 pm

Hi guys,
I have a 2000 Bugeye WRX. Last friday I left work to go home and the car just stopped working. I was in the car for ten minutes. I had slowed down and went through a round-about, went up the gears, got to the third gear, and the engine just shut off. All electrics were working. I put the car into first gear and tried to jump start the car, but it didn`t really start. I pulled over and panicked. I waited 10 minutes, tried the pin code, but only needed to put one number in and the engine light came on and I was able to start the car. Less than a Kilometre down the road, the engine went off again. I finally had the car towed to a mechanic who had the car running for hours and the car didn`t stop for him. Today (Monday) I got twenty Kilometres down the highway and the engine shut off again, then 4 Klms, then 5 Klms. I turned around to come home and it stopped again. After crying for 15 minutes I tried again with the pin code, only one number punched in and it started. I got back home and its running ok now. Can someone tell me what is going on please. I`m upset, and worried about how much this is going to cost me. Please help...

Get the brant removed.

Take it to a Subaru specialist and they'll pull that out for you. No more problems.

I don't. :p Gc8 came with a mongoose and the gd already had it out. Tee hee.

There's some talk that the newest models have the brant problem too and they're fitting systems from the 2013 model or something. I say just get rid of the brants in all subarus and go a mongoose if you want alarm.
