definatly :)

no need for turbo timer i just let mine sit for 40-60 seconds before i shut it off and after heavy highway or a thrashing i give it 60-90 seconds...(approx) thats all it needs :)

I got one on my MY00, i don't always use it. But most of the time i do. I just let it work out the time needed for my car to turn off. It has its good times when i leave my car and its still running, I see people walking past staring at it, then it just shuts off. Some people look amazed. :clown:

Installed mine on my98.. pretty easy job.

I like it. People say they do nothing and that if they were nescassery the car would come with them etc.
I think.. they were made for a reason (actually I believe they were originally made for trucks).

Anyway, funny story, went to the post office yesterday, parked right outside a cafe` which is right next door to post office.. run in.. post my stuff.. literally about 1 minute and a bit later i come out to my car.. here are 3 women standing around the front of it looking disgusted, as i walk over some ferret women asks me in her best bayswater voice 'iz thiz yore caaaar?'
~'yep!'
'Wwwhhy would you leeeave it on?'
~'Its got the handbrake on and isn't going anywhere'
'Huh? It could drive through a bloody window and kill someone'
~'How is it different to any other car that is parked here that isnt switched on? :? ' *got in my car and drove off very loudly.

Anyway, thats the sorta hassle your up for when you get a turbo timer! and people telling you that you left your car on after you have just locked it lol.

See if it 100% unnescasery.. why do people leave there car idle for 60-90 seconds :|

I have one... I let it go for a minute or so if I drive the car hard, otherwise i just hit the off button.

best thing to do after a hard run is just back off for the last couple of mins and cruise to your destination

im yet to be in a situation where ive had to flog the car to 6k for extended periods then just pull over and shut off
i am what willis was talking about.

it seems like common sense that a car will stabilise in temp better while moving, as air is passing thru radiators, intercoolers etc....??

Well i heard that because the coolant reservoir is located higher than the turbo that the coolant will still flows pretty well after the car is turned off so the turbo still gets to dissipate heat even if the car is off so no need for those fully sick turbo timers!

i have a turbo timer and a mongoose alarm, park the car, get out arm it and walk away. Got better things to do then wait for 1 or 2 min while the car turbo cools.
