Noise Emitting from Passenger Front Wheel

Postby Romper » Mon Sep 13, 2010 10:37 am

Have recently started to hear a noise coming from the passenger front wheel of my MY05 WRX. It is a squeaking/scraping type sound that increases with car speed. Turning to the left will cause the noise to disappear but maintaining a straight line or turning to the right, the noise is always present. Additionally, the noise seems to increase as brake temperature increase. I can't notice any impact on the actual drivability of the car.

Can anyone give me an indication of what it may be?

check your breaks aren't rubbing. - probably need new brake pads
do it before you drive to much else you may need to machine your disks

Possibly your brake pads are needing replacement, as they have 'squeeler' indicators to advise you they are worn.
Alternatively - you may have a small stone stuck in your brake shield.
