Top hat bolt

Postby wrx15m2 » Thu Sep 14, 2017 11:12 pm

Hi everyone!!!

I'm putting a strut brace on my 2007 MY08 subaru wrx hatch this weekend. Just wondering how tight should I do my top hat bolt (ft-lbs). Because I heard someone tighten their bolt to tight and they have problem with it. I borrow my cousin's torque wrench to tighten my bolt but don't know where to set the torque wrench. Thanks in advance.

I can't help you with measurements but maybe you could contact a suspension place or speak to someone at a subaru workshop, maybe contact Aleck at Gotitrex http://www.gotitrex.com.au/ or Tony at URD.

Did you do it yet? I keep forgetting, but I can look it up for you if you want. I just tighten it until its tight.

Yes I did. I keep adjusting my cousins torque wrench till I got the original setting of my existing one. It's around 40 ft-lbs. thanks
