IAT install ej25

Postby tig22b » Sun Dec 31, 2017 10:09 pm

Anyone got a good idea where to place it. Got a verticooler process west and thinking the silicon charge pipe hose to intake from intercooler ( it's about 5 " long and straight). drill a neat hole for adapter and use a couple of washers and nut with a high temp sealant as a gasket. Trying to avoid the heat sink effect throwing out the tune for no reason. Will i blow the sensor clean out under boost or is there better place to go? Will the silicon hose heat soak just as bad?

I believe this is where Subaru installed it on some models (S20x or Type-Rs, some limited edition thing)

Cheers ,
good read on everyone's opinion about heat soak. Kind of like the " 1st min of heat soak pulls a couple of degree's which is never a bad thing" comment, but 'm chasing real time info full closed loop system not looking for false data. 6 months i would say there will be 4 thermo's in headers for watching each cylinder temp. Plan is to push a extreme high tune over standard block as safely as can be done.

Think i will try silicon hose but will look into going into the plastic intake , really the intake manifold been plastic should be ok like pictured above too with heat soak. The only thing is the merge point of air flow is opened up in the intake which slow the air down changing its temp, The single point in hose has full force rushing over it not loosing velocity.
