HPF 08 WRX Type 2 Upgrade

Postby HPF » Thu Aug 13, 2009 2:02 pm

Just a quick one, as this graph just landed on my desk.

This is the result of our Type 2 upgrade for the 08 WRX http://hp-f.com.au/site/catalog/subaru/impreza/my08-09-wrx-sti-type2.html. It includes a cold air intake and filter, a turbo back exhaust system and a custom HPFlash tune.

Picked up around 38kw at the wheels which is pretty respectable and will definitely liven it up on the road!

A decent result. How much would that cost to a 08-09 wrx driver
92 RS Lib - No more!
06 STi - No more!
01 GT Foz - No more!
99 V5 STi coupe - Current.

That's a pretty reasonable power & torque increase!
Come to think of it, that has as much torque as my STI! :|
What brand of exhaust do you guys supply?

Great job, Mike! :D
How does it drive, compared to pre-tune?
Intake noise is pretty addictive, huh?! :clown:

Thanks for the post, so glad you are happy with it. It's amazing just how much more enjoyable they are to drive with just a couple of modifications!

Hi guys,

What happens when the :police: / EPO see that you have installed the CAI, and the fact that the intercooler is sitting on top also?

To my understanding, and I may be wrong, but can't you have either one or the other, but not both?

Hi Rols,

The intercooler is the one Subaru fitted just before it left the factory. The CAI is pretty stealth and blends in nicely.

Cheers,

Matt.

From my understanding you are allowed one 'intake mod'

The TMIC is standard so the CAI would be classed as the one intake mod.

If i were to get an aftermarket TMIC and retain the CAI then the :police: might get upset.

:? :? :?

if its factory intercooler should make no difference - no mention above of upgraded intercooler?

Pod filters in a sealed enclosure are deemed stock, i wonder if a pod in the guard is also deemed stock..? I think it partly for noise reduction, and partly for anti-fire, as in getting a backfire to ignite the pod material.

Hey HP-F just curious as to how my Dyno chart appears to hold peak KW for longer then say the other dyno chart at the top of this thread? Is interesting to see it jump at 4000rpm and then hold steadily from 4200rpm to 5100rpm and also hits peak power alot earlier then the other dyno chart
