Tinted taillights

Postby Sime » Wed May 21, 2014 5:50 pm

We had a repeat-customer stop by the other day for some customisation work on his Evo X. One of the things we did for him was to spray tint the taillights and reverse light.

This is not an adhesive overlay. The result was achieved with a special method using 2 pack clearcoat. Most guys that do this simply add black basecoat to the clear, but we do not do it this way as the results are less than predicable nor consistent. Our method allows for 100% clarity of the lights and full consistency in application. We are able to tint them to any level, from a light smoke to a very dark black.

Any plastic/polycarbonate light can be tinted, including headlights and side indicators, although I wouldn't recommend tinting the headlights. We can re-clear your headlights to restore the shine if required.

This particular level of tint allowed for plenty of light to shine through so would not be targeted by the police. Our customer was thrilled with the result and it completely changed the look of the car.

Feel free to call us if you are interested in having this work performed.
