1979 Ferrari 512BB with Swissvax Crystal Rock $1600 wax!

Postby Immacreflections » Mon Oct 24, 2011 1:55 pm

This write up is going to be my longest to date :) the car deserves it!

This is a 1979 Ferrari 512bb flat 5 litre 12 cylinder engines hence the name 5-12. The car has been owned by the same owner for 20 odd years and has seen many track days, concours events, and street driving duties. Over this time the car has seen no less than 3 resprays and in its current guise the bottom of the car is red as opposed to the regular black bottom half normally seen.

The car has overgone some extensive details including all new stickers around the car as per factory productions, the owner has 2 original Ferrari tool kits which he merged to make one full kit, a full tire changing tool kit including lead mallet to remove the knock off hubs and the original spares that came with the car!

This model boxer as opposed to the 365 and 512i has a twin plate clutch as was supposed to be slightly higher in horsepower than the injected model released after. It also included a dry sump set up,9.2:1 compression and wider wheels up from the year prior.

All up 929 of these were produced and I think its safe to say alot less are around these days!

With webber carbs induction and exhuast note working together to create a truely spine tingling sensation of sound.

Anyway on to the detail carried out!

The car was washed with ONR

Thanks Kev, he also has a 928 GTS porsche one of 20 which he wants me to detail now. And has owned a few other porsche track cars and a Ferrari 355 Challenge that was completly optioned with everything possible literally which he has now sold but is speaking to the new owner adn has given me his number to detail that also :) guessing that will sounds awsome aswell.

Edit: Thanks Harbs

Awesome stuff - after shots really show the improvements. Out of curiosity what makes the Swissvax Crystal Rock worth $1600?

Hand made by greek virgins in the bahamas wearing nothing but fine italian prosciutto over their rude bits :)...jking obviously.

It is 76% by volume(so true 76% not a bullshit 90% by wax content like you see on alot of packages) pure grade 1 white brazillian carnauba and the other products in it are expensive.

It is a fantastic looking wax and will last ages as pure carnauba is rock hard literally so content this high once cured isnt far off!

It is amazing to put it simply lol.

...I think you should get the wrx detailed and crystal rock'd :) :drunk:

Nope I prefer Zaino for leather so it got a couple of treaments on the leather, including the tire changing tool bag and the tool box, straps, and other parts. punk
