Check your cabin air filter!

Postby jonoe » Sun Jun 05, 2016 3:29 pm

So I finally got around to changing my cabin air filter today, I think it's fair to say that it was well due for replacement!

The car has a full service history with Subaru up until I took hold of it 8 months ago. I'm pretty sure the filter I removed was the factory fitted one, even though the service history indicates it should have been replaced.

That's better!

Here is a link on how to replace them on an 06 Sti. All gd impreza's should be the same.

Mmmm, I might pull mine tomorrow while I'm in the passenger side footwell changing some wires on my ecu. I keep forgetting to check it. It's like one screw and out it comes on my gc8. Probably full of leaves. I had no filter in my car when I got it and fitted the filter about 2 years ago now.

Just saw that vid. Damn, you have to remove the glovebox? I have just one screw and a cover under the glove box on the gc8. That's it. But damn, Going to have to do that when I get the gd in a couple weeks. :(

Pulled mine today and it was full of leaves, fully black but not all bent like yours. :p

I just cleaned the leaves out of it and cleaned the chamber with a brush, just popped it back in for now, will look at another one in near future. Also my mistake, it wasn't one screw, it was two. Damn twice the work.
